Newsletter June 2017

The May Steak Out was a fabulous event.  It was wonderful to see such a large turnout. Awesome job by our Social Committee.  Many thanks to Martha and Geri for their planning and hard work in putting it all together, and to Bette, Jane, Karl and Polly for their help. And, of course, kudos and a special thank you to our “Chefs du Jour,” Mark Brown, Ted Lack, Karl Gretz, and Bill Reinhart.

More good times to come.  Spring is in full swing, complete with a great social calendar; check out our June events.

Highlights from May 2017:

The Hilton Head Island Singles Annual Steak Out

We are happy to report that the annual Hilton Head Island Singles Steak Out celebrated May 6, 2017 was a wonderful success. A special thanks to Martha Reynolds who arranged for this event to take place at her residence in Oldfield Plantation. The setting was picturesque while the weather cooperated fully with blue skies and ideal temperatures making this late afternoon event a delight.

The testosterone was evident at the grilling stations manned by Mark Brown, Karl Gretz, Ted Lack and Bill Reinhart.  These grill masters worked tirelessly over the hot open flames to ensure that the individual steaks and barbequed chicken breasts were cooked to perfection as members anxiously lined up for their entrees.

Club members put their all into bringing an awry of savory appetizers, side dishes to die for, followed by an assortment of decadent desserts which added just enough sweetness at the end of the meal.

Everyone enjoyed catching up with each another inside the pavilion as well as sitting on the expansive bench overlooking the beautiful lake. The event wrapped up around 8:00 pm, with everyone well fed and relaxed.

The turnout included thirty-five members and or guests in attendance.  The success of this event, as always, was a collaborative effort by all participants and was very much appreciated.

Special Events:

Our club is hosting a Salty Dog Boat trip and Miniature Golf event this month, in addition to our regular dining offerings.
